THE final touches are being added to preparations for the highly anticipated return of the Luss Highland Games.

The Gathering will take place on Saturday, July 6 and organisers promise a day brimming with fun, competition, delicious food and drink, live music and more.

The day's action will include track races for children and adults, Highland dancing, a tug-o-war, traditional Scottish backhold wrestling, local and open piping competitions, and the ever-popular heavy events - with versions for both children and adults.

The Loch Lomond Arms will be serving delicious dishes or visit the mac 'n' cheese bar with a variety of toppings including chilli, haggis (with a veggie option), jalapeños, and pancetta.

The first Luss Highland Gathering was held in 1875, and the event has been held annually since, except for a break during the two World Wars and during the Covid pandemic.

In addition to the exciting events on the day, visitors can enjoy unique perspectives of Loch Lomond with regular sailings from Balmaha and Tarbet provided by Cruise Loch Lomond.

These cruises are perfectly timed to coordinate with the main events of the day.

Tickets cost £12 per person or £6 for children under 12, with booking in advance encouraged.
