An area band entertaining the town every week for the past month has been given a financial boost as thanks.
Helensburgh Clan Colquhoun Pipe Band ran their "Pipes in the Square" series every Wednesday evening throughout June in the square sharing their name.
In appreciation for their work, Helensburgh Community Council awarded them a £400 grant from their Music in the Square funding from Scotland Loves Local.
The band said they had received a great reception from their concerts and hope to bring the idea back every year.
Pipe Major John Low said: "We are always delighted to play in our hometown and we have received a great reception to the Wednesday evening performances from locals and tourists.
"We greatly appreciate the donations made during our performances towards our operating costs and this funding award from Helensburgh Community Council is a lovely surprise.
"We didn’t know anything about it until after our final performance so it really was the cherry on the cake and we are very grateful.
"Hopefully we will be back again next year and the Pipers in the Square every Wednesday evening in June will be an annual event."
Pipers in the Square was organised by Destination Helensburgh in association with the band, and they said the town was grateful for the free performances.
Fiona Baker, of the tourism body, said: "There has been a great turn out of locals and visitors, and really positive feedback on how much folk have enjoyed it.
"It is an expensive business equipping a pipe band and we are delighted that the Community Council has made this financial contribution towards the band’s operating costs and uniforms.
"It is a real boost to the town to have this midweek traditional entertainment, which helps attract people and supports our hospitality businesses."
Sarah Davies, secretary of Helensburgh Community Council, said, ‘We are delighted to support the Clan Colquhoun Pipe Band with a grant from the Music in the Square fund.
"Any musical groups or individuals who are providing free, public, musical entertainment for the benefit of the town can apply to the fund.
"An application form is available on the Helensburgh Community Council website and we encourage people to apply."
