A MAN has died following a crash in Oban in the early hours of the morning.
Around 1.55am on Thursday, June 27, officers were called to the A85 in the Pennyfuir area, after the body of a man was found at the side of the road.
Police Scotland say they have established that the man had been involved in a collision with a heavy goods vehicle in the George Street area of Oban a short time earlier.
The HGV and its driver have been traced and enquiries remain ongoing.
The A85 is currently closed in both directions between Connel and Oban, with diversions in place. George Street in Oban also remains closed.
Inspector Roy McCarney, from the Dumbarton road policing unit, said: “Emergency services remain at the scene as we work to establish the circumstances of the incident."
