A first-time festival filled with ‘midsummer magic’ of summer fun and family entertainment is coming to Helensburgh.

The new Midsummer Magic Festival will take place in Colquhoun Square this Saturday, June 22 from 10am to 5pm.

The organisers of the event promise it will be "a vibrant atmosphere brimming with delightful surprises".

Visitors can enjoy a variety of street food, funfair rides, activities, and live music as well as browse a variety of market stalls that showcase local crafts and treats.

Throughout the day, there will be special guests including Encanto's Mirabel and The Dark Fairy from Wicked with an opportunity for plenty of singalongs.

And there will be some performances from local dance schools, The Dance Academy and Clair Burns School of Dance.

The HMS Neptune Volunteer Band will officially open the festival on Saturday morning, then throughout the day, David Dennett of Lomond Radio will be hosting talented musicians, creating a lively soundtrack for the festivities.

The event is being organised by the team behind the Winter Festival and Christmas Town programmes.

Money raised from the summer event will go toward the Winter Festival which organisers say is under threat due to a cut in funding.
