The final countdown is on to the second annual 'Helensburgh’s Got Talent’ competition this week.

The event will take place on Thursday, June 20 at Hermitage Academy, showcasing the very best of the area's young amateur musicians, performers and other artists.

The call for submissions attracted an impressive number of number of demo tapes and after a careful assessment, 11 acts have been chosen for the performance on the day.

The acts include singers, clarsach player, pianists, a variety act and drummers.

The full line-up is singing duo Miller and Georgia, the Mirage Group, solo singer Mirren Faith, Gracie Wardle on clarsach, guitarist and singer Blythe Williamson, contortionist dancer Senara Arachchi, singers The Grayson Brothers, solo singer Kavya Kaushal, pianist Aidan O'Connor, solo singer Jenna Erlank and bucket drummers BOOM!, comprising Charlie Bucknall, Mikey France and Alexis Whiting.

The competition will be judged by a distinguished panel of independent observers, Kirsty McLaren, Pauline Forrest, Sarah Louise Press and Ian Thomson, who will choose the best three acts.

These acts will receive prizes, donated by the Lomond Rotary Club, and all contestants will receive a certificate.

The event is open to the public for an entrance fee of £3, payable at the door.

Doors will open at 6pm and a tuck shop will be open throughout the evening offering refreshments.

The event is overseen by two members of the Helensburgh Community Council, Tariq Durrani and Nigel Millar.

Mr Durrani can be contacted for further information by emailing tsdurrani@gmail.com.

Mr Durrani said: "We are delighted that Hermitage Academy has offered the premises and facilities for free."
