PEOPLE in Helensburgh are being invited along to a free community event promoting health and wellbeing in the town this weekend.

The Helensburgh and Lomond LivingWell Network’s free community event takes place at Helensburgh Leisure Centre on Sunday, June 16 when there will be plenty of new things to try.

The event will include a chance to take part in taster sessions in line dancing, chair yoga, gentle movement, ‘strength and balance’ and a new ‘Sounds Good’ Helensburgh choir, while there will be opportunities to tour and try out the leisure centre’s gym too.

In addition there will be a chance to meet Huggy the Therapy Pony (pictured) from Hugs of Argyll, and to join a ‘Walk in the Park’ led by volunteers from the Lomond and the Trossachs Countryside Trust, as well as enjoying some delicious cake from The Ginger Breadman.

Sunday’s event takes place at the leisure centre from 2pm until 5pm, while the ‘Walk in the Park’ starts at 3pm outside the centre - for more information about the walk, email fiona@trustinthepark.org .

Each taster session lasts 30 minutes, with line dancing at 2.30pm and 4pm, chair yoga at 3pm, gentle movement and Sounds Good at 3.30pm, strength and balance at 4.30pm, and tours of the gym at 3pm, 3.30pm and 4pm.

Everything is free. Click here to find out more about the event, and to sign up for any of the taster sessions, email helensburghpool@liveargyll.co.uk or call the centre on 01436 672224.
