Helensburgh’s MSP has given her support to a campaign aiming to raise awareness of a life-limiting condition.
MSP Jackie Baillie has teamed up with the Cystic Fibrosis Trust to back the charity’s Wear Yellow Day.
The event will take place on Friday, June 21, and hopes to raise awareness of the condition, which affects the lungs and digestive system.
Ms Baillie said: “Cystic fibrosis is a chronic condition, which affects many.
“There are a number of high-profile residents within my constituency who not only suffer from cystic fibrosis, but who do their best to raise funds for research into the condition.
“I am delighted to offer my support to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust ahead of Wear Yellow Day.”
The day marks the end of Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Week, which runs from Monday, June 17 to Friday, June 21.
The week is designed to raise awareness of cystic fibrosis and raise vital funds for the charity which will be used to support those living with the incurable disorder.
More than 11,000 people in the UK suffer from the illness, including 5,000 young people.
Anyone who wants to take part in Wear Yellow Day can organise a fundraiser – everything is welcome as long as participants wear yellow.
