The Helensburgh and Lomond Highland Games will be returning this weekend – and here’s everything you need to know before the big event.
The games will be held at the Helensburgh Rugby Club grounds on Rhu Road Higher on Saturday, June 1 from 10am to 5pm.
Visitors can watch competitors take part in traditional activities such as toss the caber, sheaf toss, shot put, hammer throw, weight over bar.
There will also be athletics and highland dancing competitions as well as children’s activities, food, craft stalls, and music from the Helensburgh Clan Colquhoun Pipe Band.
Attendees are asked to take public transport or travel on foot or by bike as there is no public parking on site.
Throughout the day there will be a free shuttle bus service leaving from the pier car park off Clyde Street and taking attendees directly to the rugby club.
Adult tickets for people aged 17 and over cost £8.00, child tickets for those aged five to 16 cost £4, and children under five go free.
Students aged 17 to 25 and concessions can purchase tickets for a discounted price of £4 and family tickets for two adults and up to two children are also on offer for £21.00.
Tickets are available here: www.hlhighlandgames.scot/tickets.
