The organisers of an event aiming to promote health and wellbeing are inviting the Helensburgh community to come to an open day next month.

Organised by Living Well Together, the day will take place on Sunday, June 16 from 2-5pm at the Helensburgh Leisure Centre.

People going along can take part in a variety of activities from story time sessions to arts, crafts, and coaching designed to engage children and parents during the free event.

Jac McGill and Lorna Davies of Pursuit of Wisdom Coaching and children’s service Wise for My Size will host a series of interactive sessions to foster self-confidence and self-esteem.

Jac said: "Drop in and stay for five minutes or three hours.

“There are many ways to support your and your family's health, so come along and take part."

Pursuit of Wisdom Coaching will allow children to explore the ways they can speak kindly to themselves and boost their self-confidence.

The pair established Pursuit of Wisdom Coaching in 2020 in the hope of transforming the way mental health support is provided to children in school and at home.

Wise For My Size was set up by Jac and Lorna to help young people find coping mechanisms for the things that may be worrying them.

The pair spoke to the Advertiser in December about their aim of reaching a million children with their sessions.

Visitors to the June 16 event will also be able to try out line dancing, chair yoga, group singing, strength and balance, and gentle movement sessions.

There will also be the chance to tour and try out the centre’s gym and go on a group walk.

Huggy the therapy pony will also pay the event a visit, and guests can enjoy a free cake from the Ginger Breadman.

To register interest for any sessions, email helensburghpool@liveargyll.co.uk or call 01436 672224.
