Members of a Helensburgh theatre group are kicking off preparations for their next big production – and they want keen local actors to get involved.

The Helensburgh Savoy Musical Theatre Group is putting on their production of Beauty and the Beast this winter, with principal auditions taking place on Sunday, June 16.

Potential auditionees can get ready by coming along to two open rehearsals, which will be held on Wednesday, June 5 and Wednesday, June 12 at 7.30pm in St Michael's Church Hall on William Street.

These sessions will provide attendees with an introduction to the show and club, and a chance to meet the production team and learn the audition pieces.

Those only interested in joining the chorus will not need to audition but are encouraged to come along to the taster sessions.

With the exception of the role of 'Chip', cast members must be 16+ and all auditionees must pre-register.

Auditions for the role of Chip will be held at a later date, with more information to come.

Beauty and the Beast will be performed at the Victoria Halls between Wednesday, November 6 and Saturday, November 9.
