A Helensburgh florist hopes to “share some of the magic” of floristry with locals ahead of a special day next month.
Denise Murphy, owner of Helensburgh Flowers, will be joining 1,000 other ‘flower magicians’ when the industry comes together for National Florist Day on Saturday, June 8.
The first ever awareness campaign for the floricultural industry, the day will celebrate flowers, floristry, and florists.
With a week-long 'Meet the Maker' showcase event starting on Saturday, June 1, the staff at Helensburgh Flowers are keen to start their festivities.
Denise said: "I have the most amazing job in the world and get to help people on every occasion in their lives.
“Being part of National Florist Day will allow me to share some of the magic we create every day and how we do it."
The shop will also be holding a competition and giveaways on the day.
Editor of The Florist Trade Magazine and Founder of National Florist Day, Caroline Marshall-Foster, is happy to see floristry get the recognition it deserves.
She said: "There is something magical about working with flowers, and florist shops are often at the heart of every community.
“Not only purveyors of beautiful blooms but engaging with everyone, across all ages and often seen as a safe place for a drop in and chat.
“Add in the fact that there is simply no occasion where flowers can't convey a message; be it ‘I love you’, ‘I'm sorry’, ‘congratulations’, ‘you're amazing’, or ‘thinking of you’, you really can say it with flowers every day.”
