The last leg of preparations for the Cove and Kilcreggan 10k are under way with just a month to go until the annual event returns.
The 10K is set for Sunday, June 9 and comprises of a children’s fun run at 11am, a 10K walk which sets off at 11.30am, and the 10K run which is scheduled for a 12-noon start.
River City’s Joyce Falconer, who plays Roisin McIntyre, will be the compere for this year’s event.
A spokesperson said: “Last year was a great success with many entrants saying it was one of their favourite 10k events, so this year promises to be another really enjoyable day out.
“With River City star Joyce Falconer lined up again this year to compere and the hope of more fabulous sunshine and the opportunity of a post event dip in the loch make it a really fun day out.
“There will be delicious cakes to buy from The Wee Shop at Westwinds as well as a Tunnock’s Tea Cakes for every participant, again kindly sponsored by Tunnock’s.
“[We] are delighted that their nearest Co-op, in Rosneath, have kindly agreed to sponsor the event by donating water and bananas.
“[We] would also like to thank Raymond Grieves Builders Merchant for their sponsorship.”
Buses leave every two hours from Helensburgh and stop at the event’s start and finish point at Cove Burgh Hall.
The event is still open to entries and more information can be found here: www.entrycentral.com/Cove-Kilcreggan-10k-Run-Walk.
