HELENSBURGH'S dog owners have responded with plenty of enthusiasm to a plea for pets to help people with dementia in town.
And so successful was a recent recruitment event organised in town by Alzheimer Scotland that the charity is organising a second similar information day later this month.
On Wednesday, May 15 from 1.30pm to 2.30pm, Alzheimer Scotland will be hosting an information event letting locals know how they can get involved in their Dog Day programme.
The event will be taking place in the charity's Helensburgh dementia resource centre on West Princes Street, next door to Sommerville's butchers.
The volunteer programme allows people with dementia to interact with dogs and enjoy a cuppa.
Places at the May 15 session can be booked by emailing natashya.sheppard@dogsforgood.org.
