GREEN fingered Helensburgh residents are being invited to pick up some expert gardening knowledge at two spring workshops in town.
The Friends of Hermitage Park currently have two spring gardening workshops available for booking, with the first being a plant identification workshop on Thursday, April 25.
The sessions are held in Hermitage Park from 2pm to 4pm and are organised by the Friends with support from Argyll and Bute Council's Supporting Communities Fund.
A spokesperson for the Friends said: “Why not sign up and learn some new horticultural skills in our beautiful park?
“Learning will begin inside the Pavilion and then move outside to the park. Dress for the weather and learn to identify plants like an expert.”
This will be followed on Saturday, May 25 with a session on taking softwood cuttings.
A hands-on event, this will teach you everything you need to know about taking and looking after your cuttings.
Both sessions will be led by Andrew Garven from the UHI Argyll and are suitable for all ages and skill levels.
Tickets can be booked online for £15 per participant at tinyurl.com/hermitageparkeventbrite.
