THE Easter holiday weekend marks the start of another busy visitor season in Luss...and the village is looking at its best for day-trippers thanks to the hard work of those living in the area.

The Luss and Arden Community Development Trust held their latest community clean-up on Saturday, March 23.

Residents were joined by the area's MSP, Jackie Baillie, as they cleaned up litter around the village, Glen Luss, and Glen Douglas.

A Trust spokesperson said: “Volunteers were back in hand helping pick up litter in the village and surrounding glens.

“The purpose was to improve both approaches to the village, the village itself and the two glens, Glen Luss and Glen Douglas.”

The Village Rest provided teas, coffees, and bacon rolls to the volunteers before the clean-up and afterwards, the Loch Lomond Arms Hotel helped warm everyone with soup and sandwiches.

Luss Estates also provided the trust with gear such as high-viz vests and litter pickers.

The spokesperson added: “Luss Estates are keen to help other communities borrow their litter picking equipment.

“The cost and lack of equipment could be a barrier to local community groups who might otherwise wish to carry out litter picks in their local areas.”
