Heartwarming pictures have captured the lovely moment sailors on board HMS Vanguard returned to HMNB Clyde last weekend.
Advertiser camera club member Helen Sadie photographed the crew standing and waving on the submarine as it was coming alongside the port.
Family members and friends lined the shoreline and waved to their loved ones, with a piper playing at the front of the vessel.
Helen said: "Those families were so excited to welcome their loved ones home after a very long seven months under the water."
HMS Vengeance is the youngest of the four Vanguard Class nuclear submarines, and together with her three sister vessels carries the United Kingdom’s strategic nuclear deterrent.
The submarine was brought into operation in 2001, and carries around 135 crew on board for months at a time.
