Children throughout Helensburgh and Lomond have shown off their amazing costumes for this year's World Book Day celebrations.

School pupils throughout the area ditched their uniforms for the event on Thursday, March 7 and went to class dressed as their favourite literary characters.

Despite not being a literary character, we had to acknowledge the creativity of this submission which payed tribute to the internet's favourite new villain - The Unknown.
