Green-thumbed volunteers are being urged to help clean Rhu and Shandon Parish Church’s grounds next month.
Taking place on Saturday, March 9 on the church grounds from 10am to 12noon, the event is part of an ongoing effort to clear the garden of ivy and save the cherry trees.
A representative said: “Once again come and help us battle the ivy.
“We are trying to save the cherry trees on the green and edge the grass and hoe the gravel - with teas and coffees and maybe home baking to keep us going.”
The effort is subject to good weather and will be postponed if the forecast is poor.
