Helensburgh locals have donated more than £1,500 to an online fundraiser to help bring the town's cinema into community ownership.
Having launched the GoFundMe page on Monday, January 29, the Save the Tower Arts Centre Steering Group has attracted donations of £1,575 towards their ultimate goal of £5,000.
The cash will help the fund the group’s campaign activities and future events.
Steering group chair Paul Lyden said: “We envisage that a number of events and awareness campaigns will need to be funded and run to drum up the support we will need to demonstrate from the community.
“This GoFundMe campaign is to raise the funds required to support these activities, which we all hope will lead to a successful purchase of the Tower for the community and importantly, set-up the Tower for a bright new future at the heart of Helensburgh's entertainment and arts scene.
“Please support us in our efforts by providing a small donation to fund our activities.”
The Save the Tower Community Buyout Steering Group welcomed hundreds of people to an engagement event at the Tower Digital Arts Centre on Saturday, February 3 where they set out their proposals for the popular venue.
The group will now apply to the Scottish Land Fund for the first phase of funding, which will cover a full survey of the building and guarantee the venue is fit for purpose.
If all goes to plan, the group will then apply for phase two funding, which will allow them to buy the building and bring it into community ownership.
