MARINERS on the Clyde are being urged to watch out for young sailors taking part in a training event on the Gareloch this weekend.
The 'notice to mariners' has been issued by the King’s Harbour Master Clyde (KHM) ahead of a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) event on Saturday, February 17 and Sunday, February 18.
The Blairvadach Outdoor Education Centre in Shandon is hosting the RYA Performance Training sailing event from 9am until 4.45pm on both days.
A notice published by the KHM Clyde office states that the event will involve youth sailors using six Topper sailing dinghies, six Techno windsurfers, and four IQ Foils windsurfers.
A spokesperson for the KHM Clyde office said: “Mariners are requested to navigate with caution in the vicinity of the event, taking care to minimise ship wash which could have an adverse impact on the participants.”
