AN investigation has been launched after red diesel was stolen from a housebreaking.
The theft on February 8 saw a quantity of red diesel stolen from The Boatyard in Tarbet.
Police are now appealing for information from members of the public.
Anyone who can help police with their enquiries is asked to contact PC Gill at Helensburgh Police office on 101.
In 2022 the UK Government changed the law on red diesel, also known as 'rebated fuel', to remove the entitlement to use it in off-road vehicles and machines.
Since then its use has been limited to certain types of vehicles, machines, and appliances when the fuel is used for specific purposes only, generally relating to the use of vehicles off the public road.
It's the responsibility of the vehicle's operator to check whether they are permitted to use red diesel.
