Registration is now open for the second installment of a successful walk-and-run event in Cove and Kilcreggan.
Organisers of the Cove and Kilcreggan 10k walk and run have announced that entries are open for the event set to be held on Sunday, June 9.
They have decided to make it an annual event after the success of last year, which saw around 130 participants complete the route around the Rosneath Peninsula.
Registration for the event will take place at Cove Burgh Hall.
The walk will start at this location at 11.30am, with the run to begin at noon.
A spokesperson for the event said: "The route is mixed terrain, starting on the flat along road and pavement, then turning up onto the forestry track which is undulating dirt track with lovely scenery.
"The forestry track will be a little challenging as it has a slow incline, but once you reach the 5km point then it's a satisfying downhill run on the track, then pavement back to the hall."
The run is open for people aged 16 and over and the walk is suitable for those eight and over. Anyone under 12 needs to be accompanied by a paying adult.
The organisers have also launched a new children's 1.3k fun run.
The website to register for the event states the first 15 people to enter will get a discount. However, the event's Facebook page states the lower fee of just £15 applies to the first 30 entrants.
Either way, the popularity of last year's event suggests runners will have to move quickly to take advantage of the offer.
