Helensburgh has been chosen to host a UK road running championship later this year - during the return of a popular annual 10K race series.
The West District 10k Championships for men, women, and all age groups will take place in the town on Thursday, May 30 at 7.30pm.
Those competing for West District honours will be running in the Babcock Helensburgh 10K - the final event in this year's Babcock 10K Series.
The West District 10K Championships are being held for men, women and all age group levels, and medals will be awarded in all age group categories.
The organisers say the 2024 race series has already attracted hundreds of entrants across the three events - with more than four months to go until it gets under way.
And an incentive scheme to encourage runners to sign up early has been extended until the end of this month.
As previously reported in the Advertiser, the race organisers have tweaked the schedule for the 2024 series.
In past years the Helenburgh race has been the opening event, but this year's series will begin with the Shettleston 10K on Glasgow Green at 10am on Sunday, May 12, and the Dumbarton 10K on Thursday, May 23, before the Helensburgh race brings down the curtain seven days later.
An 'early bird' offer, giving the first 500 entrants a £5 discount on the entry fee, was due to end on Hogmanay, but the series organisers have decided to extend that offer - which is now available until midnight on Wednesday, January 31.
Medals will be awarded in all age group categories at each of the three events, and every finisher will receive a unique commemorative medal in each race, together with a different item of Start Fitness running merchandise.
Competitors will also have the chance to win more than £6,000 in cash or Start Fitness vouchers for running equipment.
The Shettleston race also includes a 2K Family Fun Run on a traffic free course on Glasgow Green.
Babcock have been involved in the 10K Series since 2017 when they took over from Polaroid who had sponsored the series since 1983.
