A NURSERY in Helensburgh has cause for celebration after they were praised by inspectors.
The Drumfork Nursery and Family Centre was subject to unannounced visits by the Care Inspectorate on two dates in November.
The daycare facility on Churchill Square in the town received a glowing report, with the organisation graded ‘good’ in all four evaluation points.
Inspectors found that the children observed felt "secure and loved" by the staff who used "warm, gentle and sensitive interactions."
The report stated: "The daily routine was sensitive to children's needs and staff supported children to prepare for transitions throughout the day. Parents found the nurturing environment reassuring.
"Children were quick to settle into the playrooms, and we could see that they had formed attachments and close bonds with their key person and other staff in the playroom.
"Staff recognised the crucial role of communication with families in this process and worked in close partnership with them to ensure they remained well-prepared to meet children's current needs."
Staff were also praised for their approach to their job and their communication with colleagues over the children's needs.
The facility was visited by the Princess Royal in January 2021 when she came to Helensburgh to officially open the refurbished Drumfork Community Centre.
The watchdog also praised improvements made at the facility following the previous inspection in November 2022.
That report asked for the nursery's door entry system to be repaired or replaced, for staff to be registered with appropriate bodies, and for staff to "provide improved outcomes for children”.
Inspectors stated: "A new manager, depute and third in charge were appointed prior to the commencement of the autumn term.
"We had worked closely with the team since then to support them to make the necessary improvements highlighted since the last inspection.
"The management team was open and receptive to making these improvements and had a clear vision for the future of the service."
All three requirements have since been met and now the nursery just needs to ensure that self-evaluation and quality assurance approaches are in place.
