A chart-topping Scottish band has paid a visit to a Helensburgh primary school to share the benefits music can have on mental health.
Duo Saint Phnx took a trip to St Joseph's Primary as part of their Happy Place workshops, which are currently touring primary schools to show children how music can help with managing feelings, improving mental health, and reducing anxiety.
The children were thrilled to be able to meet the band in person and enjoyed participating in the workshop activities.
The band, formed by brothers Alan and Stevie Jukes, reached number one on the Scottish Albums Chart with their Happy Place EP, which was released in January 2022.
Principal teacher Claire Thomson said: “The class was so excited as they waited for them to arrive.
“They didn't actually believe that they were coming in person and thought that we might just be watching a video of them.
“Pupils were captivated by the brothers as they sang just for them.
“They worked with the pupils on a variety of activities and the children didn't want the session to end.”
Saint Phnx also hosted a Q&A and afterwards signed autographs and posed for photographs with the pupils.
The two classes who attended the session are now working on an art display showing off their own 'Happy Place' which they can go to in their minds whenever they feel that they need some time out.
Saint Phnx have also toured with worldwide chart toppers Imagine Dragons and Lewis Capaldi.
The Happy Place Workshops began in November, and are free for each participating school.
