The organisers of a Cardross parent and toddler group say they've seen a surge in attendance - by the simple measure of changing when they hold their sessions.
The Cardross Baby and Toddler Group made the move from a Wednesday to a Friday last week to make the group more accessible for parents and carers.
Having struggled with low attendance numbers for some time, the group made the change to a Friday on November 24 - and the switch paid off handsomely, with more parents and children than the group has seen in a long time coming along to the latest session.
One mum said: “I first came about a year ago when I was on maternity leave but stopped when I returned to work.
“I’m delighted to have the group running on a Friday now so I can keep going.
“It’s a way to meet other mums and for the kids to meet each other.
“It’s what we both look forward to and it’s a good support network.”
The volunteer-led group offers a space for parents to socialise and enjoy a coffee while also providing an opportunity for children to play and make friends.
Toys for younger and older children are available and children can also take part in story times and crafting sessions.
The group runs every Friday during term time at Cardross Parish Church from 10am to 11.30am with spaces costing £2 for members and £3 for non-members.
Parents, grandparents, carers, and relatives are all welcome to bring toddlers and babies aged up to five years.
A special Christmas session will be held on Friday, December 8 where children will be able to visit Santa, receive a small gift, take part in seasonal crafts, story times, and songs, and enjoy festive snacks.
The group is also looking for more volunteers to help with the running of the sessions.
Anyone interested in getting involved can enquire during the Friday sessions.
There is also a Facebook group which is open to parents in or near Cardross: www.facebook.com/groups/cardrossbabyandtoddlersgroup.
