TALENTED sailors from around Helensburgh and Lomond have been honoured for their skills and hard work at their club's “fabulous” annual award ceremony.
Around 50 people attended the Royal Northern and Clyde Yacht Club's annual prize-giving and laying-up supper, with 11 awards handed out at the club's premises in Rhu as members looked back on a busy and successful season of sailing.
A club spokesperson said: “A great night was had at the annual Prize Giving and Laying Up Supper.
“Approximately 50 people enjoyed another fabulous meal, drinks and chat about the season just been.
“It was finished off with the awarding of prizes to the season winners. Well done to all the winners and competitors.”
Charles Darley and Iain MacGillivray won the Gareloch One Designs prize; Nicole Macpherson and Alan Yendell were awarded the Sonars prize; Tom and Trish Stewart received the Hardy Quaich prize for Rowing; Nicole Macpherson and Alan Yendell were both named Steersman of the Club; the Service Rarity Salver went to the Gareloch One Design team; Craig MacDonald was given the George Service Trophy for his dedication to the club; and the Services to Scottish Sailing prize was given to Martin Nicole.
