A FOUR-HOUR siege brought emergency services and negotiators to a Helensburgh street on Sunday night, police report.
The incident started after alleged abusive messages being sent to an individual, and officers went to a property in MacLachlan Road around 8.30pm on November 12.
Police said they were met by a violent 42-year-old man who threatened to harm them.
A siege incident then took place and specialist resources including public order, negotiator staff and specialist trained officers from the Scottish Ambulance Service were on hand.
The incident was brought to a safe conclusion after four hours, said Police Scotland.
The time of night meant there was minimal disruption from road closures or the large police presence.
The 42-yea-old man was arrested and charged in relation to a communications offence, threatening and abusive behaviour, and resisting or obstructing officers.
He was held in custody to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court.
