Theatre goers can enjoy a Helensburgh group’s latest production of a hit Scottish musical coming next week – but tickets are selling fast.
Helensburgh Savoy Theatre Group’s production of Sunshine on Leith will be shown in the Victoria Halls from Wednesday, November 8 to Saturday, November 11 – with both a matinee and evening performance to be held on the final day.
The musical contains hit songs by The Proclaimers and follows three interlinked couples as they navigate their relationship troubles.
A spokesperson said: “Helensburgh Savoy are delighted to present Sunshine on Leith, a moving and joyous musical featuring well known songs by The Proclaimers.
“The entire cast have been working extremely hard learning their parts and perfecting their songs and dance routines. Everyone is very excited for the show.
“After the record sales and sell out performances of Calamity Jane last year, we are confident Sunshine on Leith will achieve the same success.
“Certain performances have very few tickets left, so everyone is encouraged to book their tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
“We hope you enjoy the show!”
The male leads, Ally and Davy, will be played by Nathan Press and David McMaster and the female leads, Liz and Yvonne, will be played by Marianne Ridland and Louise McCahery.
Also in the principal cast are Emily MacGillivray and Chris McLaren, who will be playing Jean and Rab Henshaw.
The production - which is the group's biggest of 2023 - will be directed by Michael Doyle in his directorial debut with musical direction by Pamela Frew and choreography by Grace Hepworth.
Tickets cost between £10 to £16 and are available online at: www.ticketsource.co.uk/helensburghsavoy.
