AN “ICONIC” Loch Lomondside hotel has been sold to a growing Scottish chain.
The Manorview Hotels and Leisure Group has purchased the Tarbet Hotel at Arrochar on Loch Lomond.
Positioned at the point where the A83 to Argyll and Bute diverges from the A82 to the Highlands and Glencoe, the 68-bedroom hotel is passed by thousands of tourists every year.
David Tracey, the managing director of the Manorview group, said: “Manorview are delighted to be the new custodians of The Tarbet Hotel. The venue is in such an iconic and beautiful part of Scotland, and we are excited to contribute to the growth and success of Argyll and Bute’s vibrant tourism sector.
“Our main priority is getting to know the hotel, the existing team, and our local communities and neighbours. And in time, as with all Manorview venues, we look forward to investing in this iconic property.”
The Tarbet Hotel sits on a spot which has been a resting place for travellers for more than 400 years, with the current building dating back 250 years, according to its TripAdvisor description.
The Manorview Hotels and Leisure Group started out of a single location – The Commercial Hotel in Wishaw – and now runs 11 “boutique and unique” properties across Scotland, according to its website.
Gary Witham, the director in Christie and Co’s Scottish hospitality team, who acted for the seller, said: “We are delighted to announce that the Tarbet Hotel will be joining Manorview’s growing portfolio of hotel and leisure businesses.
“The property is one of the 33 leisure-focused hotels positioned in leading resort and leisure destinations across England, Scotland, and Wales, that we are currently marketing on behalf of Coast and Country, which have received very strong interest to date.
“A number of these assets remain available, and we invite any interested parties to get in touch.”
