A STAR of TV comedy Still Game is set to let Helensburgh residents in on “exclusive” stories from the hit TV show when he appears in the town this weekend.
Actor and writer Sanjeev Kohli – who is best known for playing Still Game’s Navid – will be taking to the stage at the Helensburgh and Lomond Civic Centre on Saturday, September 16 at 7.30pm.
During the show, Sanjeev will spill “secrets” from behind the scenes of Still Game, tell stories about his career, and host a question-and-answer session with the audience – giving ticket holders the chance to ask him any burning questions.
Aside from playing Navid in Still Game, Sanjeev is also known for his roles in the popular programmes Fresh Meat and Gary Tank Commander, and for being one of the writers behind the Chewin' The Fat sketch show, where Jack Jarvis and Victor McDade had their first TV outing.
He's also the co-creator, and one of the stars, of the BBC Radio 4 comedy series Fags, Mags and Bags.
A spokesperson for organisers Red Shoe Entertainment said: “Sanjeev, who has been seen in the BAFTA nominated, Fresh Meat, Gary Tank Commander, and Look Around You, has also written for Chewin’ The Fat and Goodness Gracious Me.
“He is probably most famous however for his role as ‘Navid’ in Still Game.
“His up-close and personal show will offer you a belly-laugh as he lifts the lid on the secrets that have made him one of Still Game’s most popular characters, with exclusive behind the scenes stories.
“All this, and a Q&A opportunity with the man himself.”
VIP packages are available and give access to a pre-show meet and greet with a photo and signing opportunity, and guarantee priority seating close to the stage.
Standard tickets cost £19.50 while VIP tickets are £34.50.
Both can be booked here: www.ticketsource.co.uk/whats-on/helensburgh/the-helensburgh-and-lomond-civic-centre/an-evening-with-sanjeev-kohli.
The organisers have also asked people to note that Sanjeev will be unable to appear as Navid during the show.
