A Cove artists centre has partnered with a French facility to offer creatives the chance to develop their work in a new country.
Cove Park and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur have teamed up as part of the Magnetic cultural exchange programme that will see UK artists travel to France and French artists travel to the UK.
Through the scheme, artists will be able to undertake a two-month-long residency unique to them where they will have access to mentoring and use of the centre’s facilities as well as the opportunity to network.
Each month creatives will receive a monthly allowance of 2,500€ / £2,100 will be provided with accommodation and access to a workspace.
Applications have now opened for the initiative and will close on Tuesday, August 29.
Interim director of arts at Creative Scotland, Paul Burns, said: “The development of art and culture thrives on international collaboration and exchange.
“Magnetic Artists Residency programme has been designed to foster artistic development through exchange and to enhance sustainable cooperation between the UK and French visual arts scenes in the longer term. “As supporters of the programme we’re excited to see how artists are inspired by the opportunity to explore creative, societal and environmental issues in new international contexts.”
Applicants must submit a CV and proposal detailing their motivations and intentions for participating in the program and working in the associated venue.
Successful candidates will be announced in mid-October with residencies starting in autumn of this year.
