PARENTS and toddlers in Helensburgh are being invited to come along to two summer walking sessions in town this month.
The events - billed as Summer Bugy Walks for Baby Explorers - are aimed at encouraging bonding time and improving the health of children and their parents.
The walks are suitable for children who use a buggy, pram, or carrier and will be held in Hermitage Park on July 11 and 18.
Parents and children will meet at the Victoria Halls car park at 10.15am with the walk set to start at 10.30am and finish at 11am.
Afterwards, parents can have a chat and a hot drink in the Victoria Halls with the event wrapping up at 11.45am.
Special guest Fun First – a Helensburgh family charity – will be at the meetups after both walks to offer a ‘taster session’ of the groups and services they provide.
On July 18, Home-Start – a charity helping families with young kids during tough times - and Childsmile – an organisation dedicated to improving children’s oral health - will join Fun First at the after-walk meetup.
A spokesperson from the Argyll and Bute early years service, which is organising the events, said: “Join us for a gentle walk (30 minute approx) through the park followed by a blether and a cuppa at Victoria Halls.
“Enjoy bonding time with your wee one.
“Improve your wellbeing by enjoying fresh air, exercise and connecting with new people!”
Parents are reminded to dress themselves and their children for the weather.
While the events are free, booking is required as spaces are limited.
