Young families can discover the magic of books together during a Helensburgh reading group next week.
Local charity Fun First is holding their next ‘Friends’ session in the Drumfork Community Centre’s family room on Wednesday, July 5 from 10am to 11.30am.
Parents of kids aged zero to five, as well as expecting parents, can come along to the free event to read to their babies and bumps and enjoy refreshments.
They can also listen to a talk by Gill Simpson from Helensburgh Community Hub's Book Nook on the importance of reading for fun and learn about Dolly Parton's Imagination Library book gifting programme, which will be available through the hub.
A representative said: “Read to your bump, read to your baby, read to yourself.
“Hear from Gill Simpson from Helensburgh Community Hub's Book Nook on about why reading for pleasure is vital for your family as well as a lot of fun.
“There will also be information about the Hub's Dolly Parton's Imagination Library book gifting programme.
“A great session to catch up with friends and make new friends.”
Fun First offers support to parents of children between zero and five as they provide groups that help develop communication, motor, and life skills.
Dolly’s Imagination Library posts gift-wrapped books to children aged zero to five for free each month until their fifth birthday.
Parents can book a space at the ‘Friends’ session at: www.ticketsource.co.uk/fun-first.
