A Helensburgh author is “excited” as he prepares for the release of his second book later this week.
Daniel Sellers’ thriller Murder in Lovers’ Lane will hit shelves on Thursday, June 1 and will serve as a follow up to his debut novel Murder in the Gallowgate which was released in November 2022.
His new book follows Detective Lola Harris as she stumbles onto a murder scene in Pollok Park and races against time to uncover the mystery of the crime.
Daniel said: "Publishing my first thriller with Joffe Books last year was a blast.
“I was delighted that readers really seemed to connect with Lola, talking about her compassion — and also her rebellious streak.
“In the second book, Murder in Lovers’ Lane, we see Lola at her fiercest, chasing down a cunning and brutal killer.
“I can’t wait for people to read it — and I’m excited to know if they manage to work out whodunnit before Lola!"
Daniel’s books are inspired by his favourite authors such as Agatha Christie, Margaret Murphy, Mo Hayder, and Josephine Tey.
His debut book saw Lola investigate a case with links to a mysterious death on a Scottish island in 1994.
A third novel is due to be released as Daniel signed a three-book deal with publishers Joffe Books early in 2022.
Editor, Emma Grundy Haigh, said: ''Daniel Sellers is a thrilling new voice in commercial crime fiction.
“He hit the ground running with his debut, Murder in the Gallowgate, which rocketed up the top 100 on Amazon, and left his readers eager for more.
“This new title is wonderfully twisty and completely addictive addition to the DCI Lola Harris series.''
Originally from Yorkshire, Daniel lived in Liverpool, Glasgow, Dublin, and Vaasa before settling in Helensburgh with his partner and dog.
Murder in Lovers’ Lane will be available as an e-book and as a physical paperback.
