GARDENING season is in full swing across Helensburgh and Lomond and a weekend plant sale helped add even more colour to area yards.
Helensburgh and Gareloch Horticultural Society held a plant sale on Saturday catering to all, from seasoned gardeners to those looking for an added pot of summer flowers.
The society's chair, Stuart Pittendreigh, said: "This is the third time we have held the plant sale in the James Street Community Gardens and today the sun has shone on us. It is such a great venue to display plants that have been grown from seeds by members or have been donated from their gardens.
"Our sweet peas and vegetables particularly are of great interest. We also have high quality bedding plants, so everyone's borders and tubs are full of colour during the summer months.
"A big thanks to all those in the Society who donated plants, to those that have helped - and of course to the public for attending and making this event a great success."
The society has monthly garden visits during the summer for members. The next main event for the public is the Annual Flower and Vegetable Show in Victoria Halls, on August 26.
