Race director Debbie Savage said: “This year the council have required us to have a TTRO [Temporary Traffic Regulatory Order] which will mean a series of ‘rolling road closures’ around the course as the race progresses.
“We will endeavour to minimise the impact on local residents and motorists alike.
“Our race forms part of the Babcock 10K series, formerly the Polaroid 10K series, which is the oldest road running race in Scotland.
“As such it has become an important fixture in many runners’ calendars.
“It also helps to showcase Helensburgh and hopefully encourages runners from further afield to returns and enjoy the town’s amenities.”
The Helensburgh race is the first in this year’s Babcock 10K series, with the second being held at the Shettleston racecourse in Glasgow and the third in Dumbarton.
Top runners will compete to win £6,000 in cash and Start Fitness vouchers with £200 on offer for the men’s and women’s individual winners in each race and bonuses of £200 for participants who achieve course and series records.
Every 10K finisher will be awarded a medal and gifted Start Fitness running merchandise while series entrants will be given a long-sleeved top commemorating their participation in all three runs.
