We tried asking the ChatGPT system to list the five best and worst things about Helensburgh.

For the 'worst things' it came back with a bizarre list - suggesting that human beings in Helensburgh don't have too much to worry about from artificial intelligence just yet.

Limited shopping options: "Helensburgh doesn't have a great selection of shops and retail outlets," it said, "so it can be difficult to find what you're looking for."

High crime rates: "Helensburgh has some of the highest crime rates in the UK," according to ChatGPT, "with a high rate of violent crimes and drug-related offences."

Lack of public transport: "With limited public transport options, it can be difficult to get around Helensburgh."

Lack of nightlife: "Helensburgh is not known for its nightlife, with few bars and clubs to choose from."

Poor air quality: "Air pollution is a problem in Helensburgh, due to its proximity to industrial areas.

But if you change the question to, "List the five worst things about Helensburgh, United Kingdom", the air quality and crime rates clear up remarkably quickly.

Here the five listed are limited public transport connections, limited shopping and entertainment options, the high cost of living, poor wifi and mobile phone connectivity, and lack of nightlife activities.

And finally, if you ask it about Helensburgh in Scotland, the AI is concerned for future learning - suggesting it clearly hasn't heard about UHI Argyll's presence in the town.

In this case the five 'worst things' are poor public transport links, limited job opportunities, lack of nightlife, limited shopping facilities, and no nearby universities or further education options

However, if you ask the AI to list the best things about Helensburgh, suddenly its accuracy improves, praising the town and its people.

Variety of activities and attractions: Helensburgh has something to offer everyone, with plenty of activities, attractions and places to explore. 

So the AI does better with positives than negatives. That might mean that Judgement Day could still take a few more weeks...
