Helensburgh M&Co staff have thanked customers for their support during “a very difficult” time as the shop opened for its last day.
Both staff and customers said an emotional goodbye as the Sinclair Street shop – which had a presence in the town for over 45 years - opened for the final time on Thursday, April 20, 2023.
On Facebook a store representative said: “To all our amazing customers, our final day is here.
“We would like to thank you all for your support over the years.
“You have all been wonderful!
“Thank you so much for all the good wishes and gifts and kindness you have given us over a very difficult and emotional time.”
Customers showed their support in the comments, expressing their sadness that the shop will be closing but thanking the employees for their hard work.
One wrote: “The town won’t be the same without the store and the staff.
“Thanks to all of you.
“Hope you all manage to find something. All I can say is good luck in the future in whatever you do.”
Another added: “Thank you for your kind and friendly presence in the shop and wishing each one of you joy and new jobs that will bring lots of happiness.”
M&Co announced the closure of the Helensburgh shop - and all of its 170 UK stores - in February after going into administration in December 2022.
The Helensburgh shop started out as a branch of Mackays before the business rebranded to M&Co in 2003.
