THE organisers of a hair-raising Helensburgh bid to help people with cancer have thanked those in the town who lent their support to the effort.
Jill Roberts Hairdressing hosted a bake sale last month in aid of Cancer Research UK, dubbing it Baking Cakes to Beat Cancer Sooner.
It included a performance by musician Pippa Reid-Foster, who has performed at Celtic Connections and the International Harp Festival.
In total they raised £2,267.44, with more to come thanks to Gift Aid.
Jill told the Advertiser: "We had a great day and it really was above and beyond the people that popped in and the amount of delicious bakes that clients / friends handed in.
"Not to mention the amount of generous donations the local business community contributed for our raffle."
Jill added a "massive thank you" to all the local businesses who donated towards the raffle and everyone who contributed to the cause.
