Young athletes from Helensburgh put their best foot forward recently, as they were joined by school pupils from schools neighbouring West Dunbartonshire, for a major cross-country event in Balloch Park.
The competition, on Friday, March 24, saw pupils descend on Balloch Park for an intensive day of action, as part of the West Dunbartonshire School Games.
Organised and managed by the Active Schools and Sports Development teams, the event is the authority’s flagship programme for school sport.
The programme provides a full and varied school sport calendar for young people aged 8-17 (P3-S6). There is a wide range of sports for school pupils in which to participate and compete including athletics, badminton, basketball, dance, football, golf, hockey, netball, rugby, tennis and swimming.
