Loch Lomond’s Cameron House is marking 200 years of the historic hotel's main building with a year’s worth of deals and events.
First built in the 1500s, the building was renovated into its current form as a baronial mansion and tourist destination in 1823, before it became known as Cameron House in 1990.
To celebrate 200 years, the hotel is offering 200 of their rooms for just £200 each and are launching a competition where guests can win a two-night stay in a luxury Auld House Suite by submitting their favourite memories of the hotel.
General manager Allan Wilson said: “We have a fantastic history on the banks of Loch Lomond, and it has been remarkable to revisit the milestones from the last two centuries and more, as we celebrate the hotel’s 200th anniversary.
“We are extremely fortunate to operate in one of the country’s most scenic landscapes, so full of interesting people and stories.
“Our team are at the heart of the resort, and so as well as putting on events for our guests, this year will also be a celebration of current and former Clan Cameron members who have made the resort such a special place.
“We’re really looking forward to welcoming visitors from all over the world to share this year with us.”
The resort is also lunching their ‘Celebration Package’ where guests can enjoy an overnight in one of the hotel’s Auld House Suites, a chauffeur transfer to a private shopping experience with champagne at the jewellers’ renowned city-centre store, and a £500 voucher.
Events are also being planned with the popular ‘Gin Garden Party’ returning on May 6 and 7 and a series of ‘Learn & Lunch’ events hosted by chefs Paul Tamburrini & Martin Wishart being held throughout May.
Their Great Scots Bar have created a new series of cocktails including the resort’s original signature drink ‘Ode to an Old Fashioned’, and their Lobby Bar will offer summer afternoon tea sessions.
During its extensive history, the luxury hotel has welcomed famous faces from Hollywood stars like Clint Eastwood, to musicians Bono and Gary Barlow, to politicians like Winston Churchill.
