GAMING was the order of the day recently, as Helensburgh Alternative Hobby Association held an open day in the Victoria Halls.
The event, on March 18, came as part of efforts to promote the club and raise awareness about its activities, which include tabletop miniature and trading card games, board games and Dungeons and Dragons, which helps with interaction and numeracy. There are no electronic games.
Reflecting on the day, Geoff Hulse, secretary of Helensburgh Alternative Hobby Association, told the Advertiser: “We had a great response from the public who had a good look around, chatted to club members and some joined in as we had some participation games on the go.
“Approximately 85 people passed through during the day and an enjoyable day was had by all.”
The club is hoping to welcome more members during its usual Thursday evenings, from 6-10pm in the Victoria Halls.
