Helensburgh Lomond under-16s continued their winning run in 2023 with a comfortable 60-10 win against Oban.
The excellent conditions favoured a running game, which Rhuairidh Hall, the Helensburgh fly-half, exploited with some intelligent decision-making and accurate passes.
Turn-over ball from a dominant Helensburgh pack set up two quick tries as the home team established an early lead.
Powerful running from Ewan McCartney and Charlie Deacon exposed gaps in the Oban defence and the desire of the Helensburgh team to stamp their authority on the match was soon evident.
Having built a commanding lead by half time, the home team's discipline dipped and a succession of penalties, followed by some direct running from the Oban centres, allowed them to score twice.
By the last quarter, however, Helensburgh's fitness and confidence was dominating as they ran in a succession of tries to seal another excellent result from a team that continues to improve.
