ALL Argyll and Bute Council's schools in Helensburgh and Lomond, and across the authority area, will close for one day next week due to strike action, education bosses have confirmed.
Members of the Education Institute of Scotland (EIS) will take industrial action in Argyll and Bute on Thursday, February 2.
They will be joined by members of the Association of Headteachers and Deputes in Scotland (AHDS) are also striking on a rolling basis throughout January and February.
The stoppage is part of the EIS union's 16 consecutive days of strikes across Scotland, with teachers in two local authorities striking on each day from January 16 onwards.
The union has also announced plans for a further 22 days of industrial action between February and April if a resolution is not reached.
These strikes will be held on Tuesday, February 28 and Wednesday, March 1, followed by a 20-day rolling programme from Monday, March 13 to Friday, April 21.
The council expects nursery provision to be unaffected on February 2.
Parents are urged to make alternative arrangements for childcare, with further information being send out to them towards the end of next week to confirm if the strikes are progressing.
