ON-STREET cabinets housing telecommunication equipment are set to be installed at 13 different locations in Helensburgh.
Applicant Quasar, on behalf of Virgin Media, has lodged notices of intent to install the cabinets with Argyll and Bute Council.
Under ‘permitted development’ rules, formal planning permission for the cabinets – part of Virgin Media’s UK-wide network expansion project (NetEx) – is not required, but the company has nonetheless written to the council to “ensure that the locations are agreeable” to the authority.
The new cabinets will be located on the street outside the following addresses: 15 William Street, 1A Golfhill Drive, 2 Drumadoon Drive, 27 Kildonan Drive, 1 Shiskine Place, 8 Albert Drive, 14 Abercromby Crescent, 2 McEwan Drive, 3 Cairndhu Avenue, 2 Empress Drive, 2A Woodend Street, 149 West Princes Street, and 9 Cumberland Avenue.
