Thousands of households in Argyll and Bute are set to receive a gift card worth £120.
Those in receipt of a Council Tax reduction will be sent a Scotland Loves Local gift card which can be spent at more than 200 businesses in the region.
A total of 6,658 cards will be sent out by Argyll and Bute Council at the end of November.
The project is being supported by a £1.48 million Covid recovery funding package from the Scottish Government.
Councillor Robin Currie, leader of Argyll and Bute Council, said: “We know that many residents across Argyll and Bute are facing huge pressures with the cost of living crisis.
“The gift card aims to provide residents with extra spending, particularly in the run up to Christmas.
“It also provides a welcome boost to local businesses and helps to support jobs across the area.
“Please look out for the envelope and keep it safe to activate your gift card when it arrives.”
Eligible households should look out for envelopes branded ‘Love Local Love Argyll and Bute’ which will arrive at the end of this month or in early December.
Two letters will be sent, the first confirming the household’s eligibility and detailing a unique code. The second will contain the gift card, which can then be activated.
Businesses can sign up to the gift card scheme here.
