AN AUTHOR is set to deliver a talk in Helensburgh focused on her latest book.
Mary Edwards will visit Helensburgh Library today (Thursday) at 7pm.
She will discuss the process of researching and writing Gallowgate, her third historical novel.
Gallowgate follows three Irish sisters fleeing poverty and starvation in Wicklow, only to discover extreme hardship in mid-19th century Glasgow.
The story of survival, social history, and second chances offers an informative look at the lives of young Irish immigrants in Glasgow in the 1850s.
All are welcome to attend. Entry is free and refreshments will be available.
