MORE than 230 people displaced by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine have found temporary homes in Argyll and Bute, a report has revealed.
An Argyll and Bute Council official says that sponsorship arrangements have seen 111 Ukrainan Displaced People (UDPs) find homes where the sponsor and guest have self-matched before their arrival.
There have also been 64 UDPs with a ‘super sponsor’ visa who have been matched with a sponsor or allocated social housing after a temporary stay in a hotel.
The report said that at time of publication there were 57 UDPs with a ‘super sponsor’ visa who were in temporary acommodation while ‘matching’ discussions with families were in progress.
The report was discussed at a full council meeting last Thursday.
