John Graham proved to be a class apart in the final of the McDonald Medal tournament at Helensburgh Golf Club.
His score of 45 points was easily the best of the day, with Stuart Horne’s 40-point total winning him the prize in the first class section, while Craig Stirling amassed 41 points to take the honours in the second glass.
Elsewhere, George Cairns and Ewen Cameron won the final of the Ashgrove Trophy in convincing fashion, defeating Ronnie McKay and Bill Lawler by a margin of 5 and 3.
The tournament is open to gents aged over 55, and is a knockout competition played in a fourball format.
In the ladies’ section at the club, Katy Rogers enjoyd a good win in the Alt MacMillan tournament thanks to an impressive score of 43 stableford points.
Jean Ramsay and Claire Harper won the Autumn Greensome competition with 36 stableford points.
